I, want to say Thank You to the Pease Greeters that my son, SGT Randall Joshua Gibson, and 8 other soldier's from Ft Campbell, Ky had the Honor in meeting as they deployed to Afganastan on April 13,2010. He could not wait to tell me about this group of wonder people that got them such a warm send off from Maine. This meant so much to me as both a mother and someone that is so Proud of all our Solder's and Veterans everywhere to have someone that cared enough to send these soldier's off with open Heart's and Arm's when we could not be there. May GOD bless everyone of you and our Veteran's.
Admin reply: Hello Tammy,
Thank you for your kind expression of gratitude. It was a real joy to welcome Joshua and his buddies as they passed through Portsmouth International Airport at the Pease International Tradeport here in the seacoast area of Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
Our Greeters come from neighboring communities and our nearest neighbor state, Maine. Occasionally, Greeters will come from Massachusetts and as far away as Vermont, all coming together to give our troops the warm welcome they so richly deserve.
Our best wishes to Joshua, you, his mother, his family and all his friends. From our family to yours thank you for a job well done.

On behalf of the troops of the 101st Airborne Division, I want to say how overwhelmed we were with your welcoming. Being a native of the New England Coastal area, it was a honor to come through Pease and see people that truly care. As for you, Al Weston...a special thanks and love go to you personally from me, for allowing me to see my family. It was the best send off a soldier could ask for! Again thank you, my gratitude goes out to all the Pease Greeters....

I just wanted to say this is a wonderful group of people, my grandfather passed away March 4, 2010, he was a veteran and had a veterans funeral here in South Florida. The Pease Greeters found out about it and sent out stars to my whole family for us to keep close with us so we would never forget. I wish there was more I could do, I would love to be a Pease Greeter and welcome home all out troops, but we dont have an organization down here in Florida. If there is any way to start one please let me know.

I learned of Pease Greeters from a piece that ABC Evening News did and recently a short article in AARP magazine about the knitting caps program. I'm moved to tears to learn of such a dedicated group of people who are honoring our troops. My youngest son is a soldier and will soon deploy to Afghanistan. Thank you for letting our troops that we're proud of them and thankful for their sacrifices.
Admin reply: Thank you for your kind words. Speaking for the Pease Greeters we very much appreciate your expression of gratitude. Our very best to your son.

I just want to thank the Board of Directors, the Lady Greeters and all the other Pease Greeter volunteers for allowing me to be a part of your group. My only regret is not being able to make every flight. Your dedication and support to our (and sometimes foreign) Military members makes me proud to call myself a Pease Greeter.
